Hempcrete Project with NGC's Gonzaga Team

A team of students at the Gonzaga School of Engineering and Applied Science, mentored by NGC’s Dr. Lauren Heine, is researching fiber-based construction materials and has spent the academic year studying a hemp based building material called hempcrete. Hempcrete is a desirable building material for its healthy, energy efficient, and environmentally friendly properties.

The project continues with testing for flammability, moisture retention, and thermal insulation.
