Drive-in Boatwash Visits Washington State

Fiona Alven, a representative of the Swedish Drive-in Boatwash, visited Washington state this week, and was interviewed by the Clean Boating Foundation. The Port of San Diego is piloting this technology, which functions as an alternative to traditional antifouling boat paints.

Drive-in Boatwash participated as a stakeholder in the Washington State Antifouling Boat Paint Alternatives Assessment, and if this technology is proven in Puget Sound, it is expected to be less expensive than copper-based paints.  Canada's first Drive-in Boatwash was installed last spring, in Campbell River

Learn more about the technology from Adria Lau's interview or view the 'how it works' simulation on the company's website.
